half way there

8 May marked not only our three year anniversary overseas, but the day of the 20 week scan . It was great to hear that so far everything is progressing as it should be. The picture above (in case it isn’t blindingly obvious) is of our little baby’s foot (we’re taking their word for it).

I have to admit that when I saw the picture of my friend Elissa’s scan I was expecting something, well, perhaps a little clearer. But I guess on the NHS a fuzzy blur is about all you can expect. I’ve read that the second trimester is apparently the ‘golden period’ of pregnancy, where you feel good health-wise, have lots of energy and the tummy is not in the way too much. I have to agree - aside from the growing bump I feel pretty normal, which is very reassuring seeing all the changes ahead.

In other news, B’s mum is staying with us as she sets off for her own adventures in the UK, France and Ireland. Luckily for us she brought the warm Melbourne weather with her. Literally, until the day before she arrived it was like winter here (on 6 April we had three inches of snow) and overnight summer arrived… hopefully it will stick around for a while.
